About the Rally
The first Impala was in 1978 near Polokwane (quondam Pietersburg) and this 2017 one will be the 31st. This will be the 14th year in a row it will be held at this Hartbeespoort resort which has had ongoing upgrading and extensions, with more tar and bridges and chalets and more grass and more camping.
At this stage the booking of bands and amusements and events is still ongoing and the site will be updated regulary with more news.

More parking next door at the Impala. R400 to park cars in the site. R100 next door.
This system works very well with extra parking for cars next door in order to discourage them from parking inside the site, even though some will still did so. Cars are encouraged to park there for only R100 for the weekend as against the R400 deposit to park on site.
Cars pay the R400 and when they exit within an hour they will be refunded the R400 at the gate and can park next door for R100. Some stay on site for R400 for the weekend, but most move next door.

The bands are again recognised (read “expensive”) and popular ones, playing days and evenings, which is important for the atmosphere and ambience as they always gel well with the audience and set the scene for the happiness that permeates the whole weekend.

Prizegiving:
Good fun with Miss Impala and we do the handing of prizes efficiently these days, with all winners called up at once instead of each laboriously making his way to the stage. And, while there will be lots of prizes, there will be no one big lucky draw – bikes cost R400000 these days and there seem to be no rallies anywhere giving them away any more.

Busy:
It is a hectic, happy, busy rally, established in 1978, organised by Bike SA magazine and is on one of the best sites with lots of room for everyone, including families.
It is a social gathering of decent (mostly mature) motorcycling enthusiasts for a weekend of fun and happiness. All nice people are welcome. Arrive anytime and leave by lunchtime on Sunday.

Resort:
The popular Hartbeespoort Holiday Resort has lots of grass, trees, ablutions, camping and caravanning facilities, swimming pools, high water slide, trampolines, a fully-fledged skatepark, putt-putt course, jumping castles, tar roads, better access and traffic control, and general revamping is ongoing.

Workshop, Tyres, Exhibitors, Flea Markets, Food Stalls, Hospital…
There will also be a Workshop, Spares, Exhibitor’s Stands, Flea Markets, Food Stalls, Advanced Life Support Hospital. And 3km away the Hartebeespoort Dam town and surrounds are Gauteng’s booming playground.

Sky Lounge
Newly-built is a sky lounge 7 metres above ground with glass windows and doors for a 360 degree view of the site and surrounds, and and a must see is the sun going down over the Magaliesburg Mountains after 6,30.
Below it is a huge bandstand.

Food stalls
Food stalls are carefully selected to be modern, nice, clean and with no duplication of foods and a choice of more than 20 types of different foods and the site’s modern restaurant, in a beautiful setting above the pool, charges rally prices.

Programme:
Final programme will be displayed in various prominent places, and announced.

Monday -Thursday rally site access anytime:
Access to the resort is anytime, even as early as the Sunday before the rally if you want to take a week’s holiday and enjoy the facilities (swimming pools, skate park, trampolines, putt-putt, bar, sky lounge, restaurant…) or the Hartbeespoort area’s tourist attractions.
