Scooter Rally

The 2012 February 17-18 and September 14-15 Scooter Rallies

Hartbeespoort Resort

These will be the fourth and fifth Scooter Rallies, the others each being a smashing success with both public and dealers taking part, and much fun had by all. It showed what a great crowd the scooter lot are with tons of fun and festivities that accompany an event such as this.

For these, the same good activities and festivities are planned, with maybe even a few more.

Cost:  There is a fee of R100 per person

Scooter Runs: Most will get there individually, but some dealers will have group runs from their premises. There will be the popular mass ride on Saturday morning again through the town and some may extend their ride to the various and many attractions in the Hartbeespoort area and places like Magalies, Broederstroom, Cradle of Humankind...

Fun And Amusements:
There will be lots of amusements, fun and games, a mass ride through Harties starting at 11am on Saturday, followed by scooter soccer, scooter wheelie contest, scooter gymkhana, round the barrel racing, scooter concours for the best-looking scooter, music, stalls...

Scooter Racing:
It was a massive success this year, with the crowd participating on a track that was built using the resort’s access roads, with some additional tarring laid especially for the event. It was both twisty and challenging, and offered some excellent spectator viewing. Racing will start on Saturday at 3pm.

Resort Facilities:
Several people arrive on the Friday and stay over for the night or two nights to have a real holiday. The resort successfully hosts the big Impala Rally every year at the end of February and has hosted Woodstock and various song festivals. And it is owned by biking (and scooter) enthusiast Simon Fourie of Bike SA magazine and Offroad & Adventure SA. It has lots of facilities like bars, a lapa, a kiosk, a fully licenced big restaurant with good food at good prices, swimming pools, a full skate park, a children’s playground, trampolines, a jumping castle, a putt putt course...

Accommodation includes 17 modern, equipped, self-catering chalets, either two bed or six bed (with floor space for lots of squatters), 10 x 4-bed log cabins, 10 safari tents and a huge youth hostel divisible into four different sections.

The camping is unlimited on this 20 hectare site with lots of showers and ablutions and tarred roads. Accommodation booking and caravan stands must be for both Friday and Saturday.
Camping can be for any days and is free after the weekend entrance fee..
